The Scary Truth about HIV & AIDS

Were you aware that the fastest growing age group that is contracting HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) and AIDS are youth ages 15-24? That means high school and college students are at greatest risk for contracting this deadly disease. No parent wants to think about having to bury a child but the frightening reality is that if a teen contracts this deadly disease in high school their parent's life expectancy is going to be longer. Symptoms of HIV and the AIDS virus include fevers, sores, weight loss, and enlarged lymph nodes. Usually when people do not know they are infected is when they are the most contagious, because the virus is present in large amounts in genital secretions. HIV and AIDS destroy your body's natural immune system, so it is usually a matter of time before someone's body begins to shut down.
